Student Spotlight

Emily & Pehara - Girl Power in Engineering and IT Program

We are doubly delighted to learn that two of our Year 9 students have been selected for the Girl Power in Engineering and IT Program, hosted by the University of Melbourne.

This opportunity is open to applicants from Australia with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The application process is quite extensive and asks applicants to address seven different criteria. Approximately forty female students are selected to participate in the program which is for Year 9 applicants and will run right through to Year 12.

Emily and Pehara are both looking forward to sharing this experience with their peers and advocating for Women in STEM. They will be attending a four-day camp on-site at the University of Melbourne early next month.

We wish both Pehara and Emily an amazing experience and look forward to hearing about their camp experience early next month.

Our College would like to acknowledge and congratulate Audrey in Year 12 who has been selected to be on the Samoan Netball team for an International competition later this year. It was a very competitive process to be selected.

Well done Audrey and we wish you the best of luck!
