Word of the Month: Giving
Mission: To successfully develop intellectually curious, self-confident, and self-reliant young people for the betterment of a future global society.
I hope you were able to enjoy your time off with loved ones, family and friends, during this week off. For me, my joy during this time comes from spending quality time with my nieces and nephews. Giving them my undivided attention, playing with them, and spending memorable moments with them re-energizes me. The hustle and bustle of driving around for Thanksgiving dinners is all worth it once I get to hang out with them.
This month's word has been giving. It makes me think of how each and every one of you gives the best of yourselves to our scholars every day. Not only do you show up but you put forth efforts that go beyond what is asked. I see teachers staying after school to provide tutoring to students even if they are not in their class, teachers and staff connecting with parents on a daily basis either through class dojo, parent square, or through text, or covering a class when a colleague is not feeling well. I am very grateful to work with such a caring and giving staff!
Our students donated a great amount of canned and dry goods for families in need. We were able to make 20 baskets for our Azalea families!
