Wellbeing Support

Wellbeing Support for Students:
Dear Students, Parents and Caregivers,
As our students continue with remote learning, we would like to remind you that we are available and continue to offer wellbeing and counselling support for our students and families.
The counselling team at Cranbourne and Clyde North have been offering one on one support to our students during lockdown and sending students messages of support via email.
If you or your child have experienced challenges in remote learning, please be aware that you or your child can seek a referral to the counselling team via an email or telephone call to your child’s Learning Advisor, House Leader or the Pastoral Care Leader.
All sessions are private and confidential and parents will be notified if additional supports are required.

The link between food, mood and learning
It is well known that fuelling children with the appropriate foods helps support their growth and development. But did you know there is a growing body of research showing that what children eat can also affect their mood, mental health and learning?
Parents' Voice and the Healthy Eating Advisory Service (HEAS) have written about research that looks at the links between food, mood and learning and how parents and schools can team up to ensure that kids are eating healthy all day long. Read all about it here.

How to cope with stress related to COVID-19
It can feel stressful and overwhelming during an event like the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we can all be affected differently. You might feel overwhelmed by the information, conversations and the increased levels of stress in your community. It can be hard to know what information to trust especially in a situation where things are changing so quickly.
It can be helpful to keep up-to-date but it's okay to switch off from the 24-hour media cycle if this is getting too much. Headspace has created an information sheet to help people deal with stress related to the coronavirus outbreak. View the information sheet here.
