Are they really OK? Ask them today – SENIOR VCAL Personal Development Skills
Completing an applied learning program in a period of remote learning is never an easy task. The Year 12 VCAL Students have yet again risen to this challenge by creating an engaging and informative program for R U OK Day. As part of their Senior Personal Development Skills Unit students were set the challenge of creating awareness of the R U OK message: Are they really OK? Ask them today. An all-important message in this period of lockdown. They did this by running a series of activities and presentations during R U OK Day.
The program was launched with a slide presentation in Tutor Group which explored the R U OK message and a video of how to approach friends and ask the question, as well as how to keep active and mentally stimulated. During recess and lunch students ran a range of online activities at each campus. These included: meditation, mood drawing, basketball challenge, goal and worry jars, worry dolls, bring a pet to class, and the R U OK radio show, R U OK Kahoot, chalk drawings, R U OK gaming and cupcake wars.
The VCAL students also organised a Therapy Animals Australia incursion, for the Year 7 and 8 students. This incursion included demonstrations of how therapy animals work, how to train animals to work as both therapy and assistance animals.
Each of these activities plus information about mental health are included on the SPACE page links below:

2022 Subjects at St. Peter’s College
The allocation of subjects for 2022 is determined by student choice via Web Preferences Subject Selection. I am delighted to announce that the College will offer the following Subjects in 2022. As we continue to grow as a College we will endeavour to continue to offer an expanded range of options for our students.
As a College we constantly look for creative ways to offer as many options as possible. In 2022, this will mean that Geography Unit 1/2 and Religion and Society Unit 3/4 will run via Video Link cross Campus. Students will have contact time with their teacher spread across the 9 periods allocated and will undertake incursions to the respective Campus throughout the year.
Because of the extremely low numbers of students wishing to complete some courses, these will be offered as combination classes.
If you have any further questions regards these subjects or other curriculum matters, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant member of the Curriculum Team at St. Peter’s College:
