Year 6 Q & A Panel

Despite circumstances, our current lockdowns did not stop Mr Banks and Miss Zaidan from keeping in contact with next year's Year 7 cohort!

In Week 7 and Week 8, Mr Howard, Mr Banks, myself (Miss Zaidan) and an extraordinary group of Year 7 and Year 8 students took part in a Q&A Panel with the Year 6 students from our local feeder primary schools. Together, we held Cecil Hills High School's very first, online Year 6 Q&A Panel. These took place over three separate sessions with each primary school via the online communication platform, ZOOM. We had a great number of students and their teachers join the sessions from each school.

The Year 6 students were very eager to know more about our school and how high school operates. Both students and teachers from the primary schools were very excited to be part of the online Q&A and were very delighted to see some ex-students' faces.

A few of the most popular questions asked by the future ‘Class of 2027’ included:

  • How many subjects do we do in Year 7?
  • What do I need to bring to school each day?
  • Our school expectations on devices.
  • What excursions will we go on in high school?
  • What extracurricular activities are available at CHHS (soccer, debating, art etc)
  • And more.

Our Year 7 and 8 superstars were brave enough not only to tackle some very good and tough questions but also brave and enthusiastic enough to have their microphones, cameras and school uniform on!

A big thank you to the following students. We could not have done it without you.
