Having that conversation

Hi!  How are you?  How are you really?

(Please take a second to ask yourself this question. If you are not okay. That is fine. We all experience difficult times at one point or another. Please reach out to someone if you need help. We are also here to listen.)

Thursday,  9 September was R U OK? Day. This day is extremely special as it inspires and empowers everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life, especially during lockdown.

Our Year 11 Student Representative Council  (SRC) created a very special video which students viewed during Connect.

The video encouraged students to reach out to the people around them. This included peers, friends, teachers, parents, siblings and extended family. Students were also reminded that they don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good person and a great listener. The video can be viewed below:

We encourage everyone to use the month of September in particular, as a time to reach out to people. Be it via phone, email or even Zoom!  We sometimes get so busy that we forget that it only takes a few minutes to ask a person "Are you okay?"  Remember, a conversation could save a life!

We hope you have a lovely day. Take care!
