Congratulations Year 12

Year 12 Early University Entries

It is with great joy that we congratulate our Year 12s on their early entry acceptances into university degrees. 2022 is already looking bright with our students heading off to Western Sydney University, Macquarie University, Australian Catholic University and many more.

Stevana Bogicevic will be undertaking a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Business degree and exclaimed “I feel excited and relieved about the offer. It decreases my stress and lets me focus on completing my HSC”.   When asked what her future goals are, Stevana continued “to complete my degree and find a field that I feel passionate about whether it be science or business.”

Likewise,An Phan has secured her spot in a Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Accounting. When asked why she applied for an early entry offer she noted having an early offer “Puts me at ease knowing I have a backup offer, no matter the outcome of the HSC”

We are so proud of all our students who received early entry offers. It is encouraging to note that so many of our students near future is looking bright. Congratulations to all our students on their success.

TAFE NSW success

A number of our Year 12 students continued with their TVET at TAFE NSW courses during these ever changing times. TAFE NSW reached out to the teaching sections and ask for nominations for a Highly Commended Award.

This award is for students who have demonstrated diligence, effort and generally worked hard throughout this year’s course. The students listed below have been nominated by their TAFE teacher and have demonstrated these qualities.

Many more of our students combined their school studies with their TAFE studies throughout their senior years.  It is an honour for Cecil Hills High School to have TAFE NSW award our students on their success.

Of course, none of this is possible without our amazing Careers  and Transition Team led by Mrs Reid.  Thank you to Mrs Reid, Mr Alfonsi, Mr Chambour and Mr Evans who always go above and beyond in guiding and supporting our students in preparing them for their future careers.

The Morning Show - Year 12 Connect

2021 saw Year 12s face the toughest schooling term of their lives.  From remote learning to missing their friends, students joined their Year 12 Advisers, Mr Alfonsi and our Connect teachers every morning for some laughs, wellbeing check- ins and book week dress ups.

Former Deputy Principal, Mrs James, joined our Connect meeting to send warm wishes to our Year 12s as did former Year Adviser Mrs Kennedy, also joining in for some morning fun and words of encouragement.

A big focus of these sessions was of course the students. Students would join to share their great news of early entries into university courses as well as share their worries for the future. We reminded students the importance of reaching out to one another and celebrated RU OK day with the important message to check in on your friends and family and ask three simple words: R U OK.

Thank you to all the teachers who joined us throughout the term in supporting our Year 12 students.

Message for our Year 12 students

Her Excellency,  the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of NSW sent through kind words of encouragement and warm wishes to all Year 12 students across NSW. As students were preparing for the final Trial HSC examinations, the world as they knew it changed.  Her excellency wrote;  “As you navigate the conditions of the next few weeks, I know you have the support of your teachers  and your classmates”.

On behalf of the staff and students at Cecil Hills High School, we thank Her Excellency for taking the time and sending warm wishes to our students.
