Principal's Report

I'm sure we weren't surprised when the most recent extension to Victoria's lockdowns were announced. Despite this, it still hits hard and feels never ending. I continue to be impressed with our school community - teachers, students and parents, as we continue to work together strengthening our Remote Learning Program and keeping connected remotely.

A new School Operations Guide has just been released

One positive change:

School playgrounds can once again be used after school hours, using the QR code check ins under the Restricted Activity Directions. Please use the QR codes when visiting the school playgrounds and/or facilities. This includes the blue basketball court, oval and other courts.

As previously communicated, I will be taking five weeks long service leave commencing next term. Jake Laurie will step into the Acting Principal role during that time. Meredith Thornton will be filling in for Jake on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the role of Student Support and PE will be timetabled for Mondays and Fridays.

Planning Days

Our classroom teachers will be having their Planning Day on Tuesday 14 September. On this day all classes will run their morning meet from 9.00am-9.15am and then the teachers will commence their planning. Our specialist teachers will then be running a fun filled day for the students running live lessons in PE, Italian, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. Get your children's footy gear ready as this day will be a Footy Fun Day! Stay tuned for more information in next week's newsletter. Our 3.00pm assembly will involve a Footy Quiz and sharing highlights of the day.

Our Specialist teachers will be taking their planning days on another day during the final week of school.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all the families who engaged in parent/teacher interviews online this week. The teachers have commented on how lovely it was to see your faces and discuss your child's learning. Apologies again for the mix up with the 'phone' option and any inconvenience it may have caused to families who chose that option.

NAPLAN

The NAPLAN report cards have arrived. NAPLAN is completed by Year 3 and Year 5 each year. We will post these out to you early next week.

Production

Please take a look in the Performing Arts tab for a Production update from Natika.
