Festival 'Le voyage à Nantes'

Organised along a green line snaking through the city, the Voyage à Nantes is a Festival that is organised in my home city every year. It takes visitors on an artistic journey throughout the summer months. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the festival took place from July 3 to September 12, 2021.  Artists and creators, gardeners and cooks were all invited to express themselves in public spaces.  With some 60 'stages' linking the entire cultural program, the city felt even more crazy than usual!   The range and contrast were vast: there were works hidden on street corners, impressive heritage landmarks, city must-sees and unknown treasures, adornments of historic alleyways and contemporary architecture, urban viewpoints and incredible sunset vistas over the estuary.   On Place Royale, Ugo Schiavi's Le Naufrage de Neptune adopted the symbolism of water, travel and prosperity by staging the sinking of a boat.

Bonjour à tous!

This is the last week of Term 3 and I bet you are all looking forward to some well-deserved holidays.

  • This week, the Preps have finished recording farm animals in their notebooks. They will be ready next Term to play games to memorise this new vocabulary.

  • Last week, Year 1 and 2 students played a Hangman Competition online, to start memorising vocabulary on the topic of 'school items'.  We had lots of fun !

As a little reward for their hard work this Term, they also watched a cute French animation that was released this year.  Here is the trailer of 'L'Odyssée de Choum'.

  • Year 3 and 3/4 students are learning about Bastille Day and the French revolution. They have just started their portfolio piece on this topic:
  • Finally, after weeks of hard work learning about French verbs and conjugations, Year 4/5 and 5/6 students are having a little break with a fun and easier topic. After watching a few funny episodes of the French series 'Minuscules', they have recorded new vocabulary on the topic of 'bugs'. Here are two of the episodes that we watched in class, for you to enjoy:

To finish for today, here is the French song of the week: 'Beau-papa' (stepfather) by Vianney:

Bonnes vacances à tous! Happy holidays to everyone!

A bientôt, Talk to you again soon,

Delphine
