Kindness Project

In September 2021, the junior school, along with a number of other schools in the area joined small business ‘The Ministry of Chocolate’ to express their gratitude and appreciation of health care workers!

The entire team of 140 Intensive Care nurses at the Epworth Hospital received their very own 'Chocolate Survival Kit', as well as letters, cards, picture and messages of support from the people of Melbourne.  The contributions of the children from local schools would undoubtedly have brought smiles to the faces of the Epworth staff. Well done Weeden for getting on board with such a worthy cause!

Writing in Remote Learning 

Students in grade 1 and 2 were busy in remote learning creating Cinquain poems. A Cinquain is a five lined poem (hence the name!) and is a favourite poetic form for many kids as one student remarked: 'They are easy and fun to write and don't require a whole lot of words!' They also reinforce some basic grammatical parts of speech.
