Wellbeing Wisdom

It’s important during these isolating times that we continue to stay connected with each other and maintain our socialisation. School plays a key role in socialising and socialising plays a key role in wellbeing. When this is not physically possible, staying in contact in other ways is important to help bridge the gap.

The focus of wellbeing is to have a sense of belonging. Building social skills and developing a sense of connectedness through relationships assists in the development of belonging and continues to be important for online wellbeing.

To maintain wellbeing, it’s important to:

1. Connect- with family and friends. Invest in these relationships for now and the future.

2.Be present- notice what is happening around you and how you are feeling. Reflect, pray or practice mindfulness.

3. Be active- Step outside, play a game, dance or do some stretching exercises.

4. Keep learning- Try something new! Fix your bike, do a puzzle or learn to play a musical instrument!!

5. Be generous- do something nice for a family member or friend- say thank you or just simply smile!

Some wellbeing activities that can be undertaken at home:

* Play with a pet

* Write someone a nice letter

* Learn a new skill for a sport you’re interested in

* Write a list of goals for the future

* Read your favourite book

Book Week

This week we celebrate Book Week. Old Worlds, New Worlds and Other Worlds is the theme for this year. Due to our Lockdown and current restrictions we will not be holding our dress up parade as organised, however the children will get a chance on Friday to dress up.

Mrs Howarth has created a Book Week rubric that K-2 are able to access this all week through the Sacred Heart Remote Learning site by clicking on the link provided.

Yr 3-6 will have the opportunity to access the Book Week rubric on Friday.

We would love to see lots of photos of you in your costume, so please keep sending them through so that we can upload them to the site.
