Principal's Report

Great to see some sunshine - intermittently!

Staffing changes

It's unusual at this time of year to have staff changes, but it has been necessary to have a few in recent times that will impact classrooms in the coming weeks.

We are pleased to welcome Lauren to Room B2, since last week, when Ben departed our school.  Miss Laura leaves us this Friday for some personal leave and we will welcome Rick to Room D1, whilst Blair will step into a full-time capacity with M2 students.  Jill Hill will undertake one day a week equivalent with M1 students to support Sarah in her leadership role.  Congratulations to Hannah in D4, who was successful in gaining an ongoing teaching position at Lucas PS.  We currently have a replacement vacancy advertised.  And finally, we have had Pat Withell begin as our new teacher in D5, replacing Claire who has just entered family leave.

There is a lot happening, and I truly appreciate the positive support from home for all our students to demonstrate their resilience and 'can do' attitude.

Continued works

As is very evident, works continue on our phase two of the capital works program.  Troon continue works on our library / community drop in centre, Senior Learning Centre to the north of our site, landscaping across our site and our new staff car park.  Despite the trying weather conditions, they are making wonderful progress, to conclude works as soon as possible.

I thank students, staff and families from our community for their ongoing support and patience.  The big picture is bright and exciting...

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
