Mission

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues around the globe, our connection with what is ‘normal’ continues to be eroded. As a Catholic community, we experienced this in a particular way during the period of Easter and the significant dates which followed. In his latest newsletter, Br Robert O’Connor, Marist Mission and Life Team, explores this for us and offers some solace in how to find God in the ordinariness of each day. I commend this reading to you.

This ordinariness was evident in our Kindergarten students this week as they left the Junior School and walked the path, now officially known as The Marist Way, for their excursion to the Big School! The purpose of their visit was to find evidence of our Catholicity in the symbols, artworks and statues. The highlight of the visit was time spent in the College Chapel and their excitement at being allowed to touch the sacred vessels and books and be photographed sitting in the Presider’s chair and next to the statues of Saint Marcellin, St Gregory and Mary, was matched only by the reverence and respect shown. Well done Kindergarten!
