GAT

On Wednesday 7th October 132 Bairnsdale Secondary College VCE students attended the General Achievement Test, familiarly called the GAT which was held on campus.

The GAT is a 3 and 1/4 hour test of communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills, set externally by VCAA. This is an important assessment for VCE students, because GAT results contribute to the statistical moderation of all school based assessment results. We were very proud of the efforts of our students in their GAT preparation during remote learning, for what is a challenging task. The College's team of supervisors commented that they were extremely impressed by our students' behaviour and effort in trying to achieve their best.

Elevate - ConnectED

All Year 12 VCE students have an opportunity to attend a dedicated VCE revision program for their study area. Elevate and ConnectED, a reputable VCE revision provider, have joined forces this year and our College has secured their services to support VCE revision programs as our students prepare for exams.

Rural Revision Program

Year 12 VCE students also have access to a new DET platform hosting the 2020 Rural Revision Program. The platform provides subject specific study material and a wide range of resources to support exam revision. The platform is continually revised with updated information and resources. Initial reports from BSC students who have accessed the program are very positive. Please use the link below to investigate the options.

Some VCAL students were still able to complete their Structured Workplace Learning during remote learning. Riley Reddick, who is studying VET Automotive, got his hands dirty at The Big Garage.
