Hattie Maxwell is trying to make sense of her life since the separation of her parents. While trying to find home, it seems everything and everyone is going against her. Mum is looking to move to the country. Dad lives in the old family home where the smells and sounds are not the same. Then there is her friend-not–friend, Taylor Dellabella. The school principal wants to ban the use of the monkey bars and not to mention she has a lost library book. To get away from it all, Hattie visits an old mansion with a giant mulberry tree. One day she learns that the house is going to be demolished. Can Hattie save the house? She is determined to save it! The house reveals secrets that may help Hattie. Can the past help Hattie fix her present?
This is a brilliant novel, made in Melbourne, with a contemporary twist.
The Secret Library of Hummingbird House, celebrates believing in yourself, speaking out and moving forward.

"Diary of a wimpy kid "
I really like Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and this one is my favourite because it is about one place where lots of things happen. These things are really funny like when Greg wondered into the naked beach with a camera.

"Anne of Green Gables "
I loved how Anne had a big imagination and that she used very descriptive words during the book. I liked how much mischief and trouble she got herself into. My favourite part was when she thought wine was red cordial and she made her best friend drunk! It was concerning what was going to happen next but funny.
