Exciting Plans
The ‘hasten slowly’ philosophy has been appropriate given the uncertainty of 2020. However, very fruitful discussions have been occurring to enable our Master Planning to become a reality. Recently purchased land adjacent to the College will enable a movement of our maintenance facility which will create the opportunity for expansion of our facilities into the future.
Below is a possible timeline for significant new buildings and improvements and renovations to existing facilities. We have been very conscious to minimise disruption to learning in 2020 but there is certainly much excitement for the coming years.
Construction start | Construction end | |
Maintenance Facility | November 2020 | April 2021 |
Student Carpark and A Block Carpark | November 2020 | April 2021 |
Roncalli Hall Upgrade (air conditioning) | December 2020 | March 2021 |
New Administration Building, Main Car Park and Entry Forecourt | March 2021 | April 2022 |
Library Refurbishment | March 2021 | August 2021 |
A Block Refurbishment | September 2021 | February 2022 |
Existing Admin Refurbishment | May 2022 | June 2022 |
Pastoral Care Centre (existing staffroom) | May 2022 | July 2022 |
Very astute parents commented on the naming of existing and future buildings at this week’s Parent Association Meeting. ‘A Block’ and other terms are very convenient and enable our large campus to be navigated easily. However, the coming months will be an excellent time to reflect on our naming of buildings and facilities as a way of telling the story of our College and its heritage. We will seek input from our community prior to any changes being implemented.
Our Master Planning also keeps open the possibility for future expansion of student numbers. Demand for student places remains very high at our College and we remain in dialogue with Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) with respect to what is best for our College and the wider Catholic education community. There are certainly no immediate plans to increase the size of our school community.
