Important Safety Information

We have been alerted to a dangerous situation occurring in the afternoons. In Raglan Street (topside of the BSC) there have been some very near misses that could have ended in a very serious situation. It seems that some cars have been seen parking (or at least stopping) in the Bus Zone. In addition, there have also been reports of cars double parking on the topside of Raglan St. Students and other children have been seen crossing the road in a very dangerous manner (sometimes to quickly get to a double parked car on the far side of the road).

• Please never park in the Bus Zone during the prohibited times. This includes quickly stopping to wait for a student to “jump in”.
• Please never double park while waiting for a student to enter your vehicle or while dropping off.
• Arranging to collect your child from a nearby street would be a significant help in reducing congestion in Raglan St.

Please remember that the driveway off Brisbane St. should not be used in either the morning or afternoon “rush” times. Double parking in Brisbane St has also been reported resulting in dangerous conditions.

If you are a parent of a child who drives please help us to emphasise the potential harm of these behaviours. The safety of all members of our community needs to be our priority even when this requires some inconvenience.
