This week I had the great joy of being taken on a tour of our new purpose built, multi-use building on the WCC. From the outside, it has been exciting to watch it get bigger and take shape. Its impressive size and clear structure has had many prospective families “oohh” and “ahhh” from a distance.

To go inside and see the classrooms was wonderful! The Science Labs and Technology classrooms were big, light and airy and I could immediately visualise girls and boys learning, being engaged in their Science lessons and practical experiments. The open space between the classrooms was so inviting and I’m sure will be a hub of activity and fun as students move between lessons.

To have purpose-built classrooms ready as we move to our new Diamond Model structure in 2021, enables the staff and school to cater to the teaching styles of both boys and girls in Years 7-9. The classrooms will provide the bones for a rich and focused teaching program that I am sure the students will enjoy and thrive in.

Downstairs in the Visual Arts classroom and the Dance and Drama classrooms, I was again impressed with the size and detailed plan of the rooms. The stunning view across to the gumtrees and bushland will, I’m sure stimulate the creativity and imagination of the boys and girls.

I am looking forward to being able to take new families into the building and show them our students learning and engaging in their lessons. I think it will be a highlight of tours to come!
