Mr Irwin's Message

Mr Irwin's Message

Hello families and welcome to this weeks’ newsletter.

It’s been fantastic to have students return to school and quickly get back into a busy routine of learning. At this stage there is no change to restrictions and I thank you for your ongoing support of wearing masks and not coming on-site.  We hope these restrictions will ease soon when its safe to do so.

RESET TIME

As we return to school we've had a focus on re-establishing sound routines of learning and organisation to support having calm classrooms that are conducive to learning.

You may have heard at 3:05 a buzzer ring if you’ve been waiting out the front. This marks the start of RESET time, which is designed to ensure we finish each day calm, clean and organised and ready for learning the following morning.

Here’s what happens in RESET time…

R is for return all learning materials in class to where they belong.

E is for everything in our learning spaces has a place, and needs to be there before we go home.

S is for Scan the floor, under trolleys, and in our bag spots to make sure everything has been put way.

E is for even if it gets to 3:15 and we aren’t quite done, we keep tidying until our learning space is reset. The bell at 3:15 lets our teacher know we can go home when we’ve finished re-setting.

And T reminds us there is a buzzer than rings at 3:05pm to let the school know it’s time to RESET.

We hope this will make students responsible for maintaining learning spaces to be calm and organised.

Fundraising

This Saturday is our Bunnings BBQ which rounds out a busy period of parent activity with Cookie Dough orders arriving on Monday for pickup too. If you’re able to help at the BBQ on Saturday you can still make contact to check what support is still required, or, even pop past to buy a sausage and say gday!

Our Parents' Club have done a superb job organising these two fundraisers and they will be of great benefit to the school. Locally raised funds help us with projects such us our recent Covered Outdoor Learning Area, and help us explore future projects such as developing future play spaces at the front of the school.

Over the next few weeks our School Council will be prioritising some further projects to continue raising funds for and engage in consultation with parents and students about these.

Science Room Supplies Needed

If families have any of the following things at home, instead of throwing them in the recycling bin, could students please drop them off to the office for the Science/Art room.

  • clean jars with matching lids
  • newspapers
  • any recycled plastic bottles, also with matching lids (soft drink, juice, water etc)

We need these materials to conduct some fun science experiments this term!

Thank you.
