Principal’s Message

Mr Nick Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

The end of another busy term is upon us and I wanted to acknowledge the great work of our students and staff here at Sacred Heart. The Semester One Reports released on Friday indicated great success for our students across the semester, with our 2021 Annual Improvement goals of Reading and Well-Being shining through. We will continue to focus on these areas of improvement in the second half of the year, but the results already indicate substantial growth for our students in these areas.

This week we are celebrating NAIDOC Week at Sacred Heart. The official date of NAIDOC Week is during the upcoming school holidays and the theme for 2021 is "Heal Country." This morning, we recognised NAIDOC Week with a special prayer assembly and will participate in a range of indigenous craft and cultural activities on Thursday. As mentioned last week, we will be travelling to Moree at some point later in the year to participate in a special concert by indigenous performer Mitch Tambo.

This Friday is a full day of activities for our students. In the morning, Alastair Tomkins from the Australian School of Arts will be leading an improvisation drama workshop for our 3-6 students. We will also have the Term 2 Disco from 11.30am to 12.30pm, followed by our final Athletics sports session with Maryanne Perkins at 1.00pm and 1.45pm. All students are invited to come to school dressed in mufti clothes on Friday (please ensure your child has joggers for sport and a hat).

This Friday is also the last day for Mrs Rosie Sims at Sacred Heart. We will have a special farewell for Mrs Sims at assembly on 2.30pm Friday. All parents are welcome to come along to say farewell.

The Term 3 Parent Calendar will be sent home as a hard copy this week. Some important dates to note include;
