Principal's Report

Welcome back to Term 3.

I would like to officially welcome Ms Jenna Wilson who will be taking Visual Arts this semester and Sue Williams who will be taking Prep T for all of Term 3.  I appreciate the time both teachers took last term to do a handover to ensure as much continuity for the students.

It’s Bedtime

I did a little reading over the holidays.  I always like to find out something new about education or child development. Interestingly, I read about the strong link between a child’s bedtime routine and their behaviour.  The study assessed over 10,000 children.  Those who had a regular, consistent and predictable routine at bedtime were far more likely to have less behavioural concerns than those with unpredictable and random bedtimes with little or no routine. Seems obvious but the link is quite significant.

Give us your thoughts

We are always looking for areas we can improve or meet our community needs more accurately. Currently, School Council would like to know what you want/need in a before and after school care program.  There are many things to consider so School Council have developed a quick survey for you to complete that will help our sub committee move forward in ensuring any improvement measures can be made in 2022.

Whether or not you have a child attending Camp Australia you can still give us your insights.

Thanks in advance for taking time to complete this for us.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Thanks to all those who have booked an appointment with their child’s teacher to discuss their progress in the classroom.

Tonight and tomorrow when interviews are being conducted, you need to do two things to comply with the DET COVID Safe guidelines.

  1. Wear a facemask inside
  2. Scan the QR code on the front of the classroom or on the door of the building you are entering and check in.

Children are welcome at the interviews, but I appreciate some parents like the time with the teacher without their child present.  Do what suits you best.

Prep Tour

Due to the fact I had to cancel a tour last term I will conduct a make up tour for prospective Prep parents on Friday 23rd at 9.30am.  Please contact the office to book in. Bookings are essential.

If you have not enrolled your child’s sibling yet, please do so as soon as you can to help with 2022 planning.

Pupil Free Day (Friday 16th)

Just a reminder that Camp Australia will be operating a whole day program for those needing it.

www.campaustralia.com.au to book!

Have a great week,
