To the St Brigid's School Community,
Welcome to the first iNewsletter for St Brigid's School. This newsletter will be sent out to you each fortnight with important information about our school.
We certainly have had an unusual start to this term, we thank you for all your support over the last two weeks. Our teachers have certainly appreciated you working in partnership with us as we navigated remote learning.
This term we welcome Mia, Brooklyn and Ryan to Reception and wish them well as they begin their schooling journey. A big welcome back to Olisia, Year 3 and Francis, Year 6 having returned to St Brigid's School and a warm welcome to Zahra Year 4 and Mustafa Year 2 as they begin their time at St Brigid's School.

On our pupil free day in Week 1, our teachers participated in a reflection day centred around our OLSH Charism and Mary MacKillop. The reflection day supports the staff's faith formation and developing a deeper understanding of our Catholic Tradition.
As a school, we are continuing to celebrate NAIDOC week. The NAIDOC 2021 theme – Heal Country! – this is about seeking greater protection of our lands, waters and sacred sites and cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction. You would have seen many activities with the home learning to support this.
NAIDOC 2021 invites the nation to embrace First Nations’ cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia's national heritage and equally respect the culture and values of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders as they do the cultures and values of all Australians.
We will be asking families to complete a survey about our school's performance. Similar surveys will be administered to staff and students to enable us to capture a community snapshot.
All responses are confidential and will be used for school improvement purposes. Completion of the survey is on a voluntary basis. To protect your confidentiality all surveys are anonymous. All answers go directly to the National School Improvement Partnerships, where the results are analysed for your school. Answers from individual surveys will NOT be reported back to the school.
The staff of the National School Improvement Partnerships are bound by a Code of Ethics and follow strict professional conduct. Use of the data National School Improvement Partnerships will report the results to the school in an aggregated format so that individuals cannot be identified. To enable drill-down reporting, the information provided to the school will contain data based on background information. This anonymous data will be provided to CESA for reporting and consideration of support for schools.
How to complete the survey...
For each statement, you are asked to rate how well you think the school is performing by circling one of six responses.
The responses are numbered 1 to 6, with number 1 being the lowest or worst rating and number 6 being the highest or best rating.
There are no 'right' or 'wrong' answers. Your opinion is what is wanted.
Please be sure to answer all questions.
Some statements may be fairly similar to other statements. Don't worry about this. Simply give your opinion about all statements.
I have attached the information for you to begin the survey.
School Planning
We are beginning the process of staffing for 2022. If you are not intending on returning to St Brigid's School in 2022, could you please let Josie or I know? As per the school policy, a terms notice is required otherwise a term of schooling may be charged to your account if we are not notified.
Yours in Love, Peace and Learning
Shannon
