STUDIO ARTS Excursion to NGV

On Tuesday 18 June, the Year 11 Studio Arts students went to the NGV Australia to visit the TOP ARTS 2019 Exhibition. The artwork was exceptional and creative. The conceptual ideas portrayed were very mature and interesting. It was a big learning curve for the Year 11s to see what is achievable when they are also producing artwork this year and next year.

The girls also attended a lecture and had access to the artists' visual diaries. This was a fabulous experience to see the insight as to how the students achieved such successful artworks.

We also viewed The Darren Sylvestor: Carve a future, Devour everything, 'become something’ Exhibition and the Joseph Brown collection. Students need to be aware of the curatorial aspects of the presentation of different exhibitions for the examination so to see such diverse artists and how they can all be exhibited differently was a great experience for the Studio Art Students.

Some images from the day.
