EISTEDDFOD BY THE BAY

Congratulations!

Congratulations to both our Choirs who excelled at the recent ‘Eisteddfod by the Bay’ Choral Festival at the Kingston Arts Centre.  The Year 7 & 8 Choir performed ‘4 Chords’ and ‘Migaloo’ and placed second in the Primary/Middle School section.  The Senior Choir performed ‘One Minute Madrigal’ and ‘Seasons of Love’ and won the Secondary School section!  Both Choirs performed superbly and represented Kilbreda in an extremely positive way. A wonderful experience for both Choirs to perform with other School Choirs and receive feedback from an experienced adjudicator.

Well done to all involved!

Alice Through The Opera Glass

On Friday 14 June, the Year 7 and 8 choir travelled to the Melbourne Arts Centre to watch the performance of “Alice Through the Opera Glass”. The reason for attending this performance was to look at the way dynamics were included in their songs and to also appreciate the technical art of opera. The show was fantastic and everybody in the choir was amazed at the way the artists sang the songs so precisely and cleanly.

Many smiles could be seen throughout the audience and I think that everybody enjoyed the show as much as I did.

Thank you to the teachers who accompanied us on the day, Ms Hilliard and Jemma Law. Special thanks to Ms Hilliard and Mrs Holden, because without the hard work that you both put in to coordinating this event, we wouldn’t have been able to attend this amazing performance.
