Principal Report

Principal Message Week 1 Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3!

I don’t think any of us were expecting by the end of week one to be back to remote learning again but here we are. I think after Term 2’s experience we are perhaps less daunted by the process but none the less it is still a challenging time for us all. I am very hopeful that we will be back next Wednesday, and school life can resume, albeit it with a few new restrictions in place, and some normalcy.

I am confident that we will be able to continue to deliver a high quality and differentiated program to all our children during this lockdown. Throughout the period there are many opportunities for children to participate in small, targeted groups which will assist with connection and consistency of learning. As we head into Lockdown 5.0, I would like to thank you on behalf of the staff for your support and understanding during this very difficult period for all within our community.

As I am determined to remain optimistic, I have listed below some of the major events for this term.

You will soon receive, via Skoolbag, an outline of what is happening over the term in your child’s class through the class newsletters. This will be a busy term and teachers have planned some wonderful experiences for each year level. It is a very exciting term for all the children and the school community with the upcoming performance of our school productionMadagascar Junior on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 September, St Mary’s College Windsor Campus. Every child in the school is involved in the musical and plays a vital role in the show, singing and dancing. We are looking forward to seeing you there, so make sure you add these dates into your calendar and be on the lookout for when tickets go on sale. With only 6 more weeks to pull it all together, we have already witnessed some wonderful performances and you are going to be in for a real treat on the nights.

However, well before these dates we have many other exciting activities and events occurring in our school. There is our school sports day, Hooptime Year 4-6, First Eucharist, Book Week, excursions planned and the snow sports competition for our snow team.

This newsletter contains a lot of information and important dates so please take the time to read it carefully with your calendars close at hand.   Please note: the Parent-Teacher Interviews have been postponed.

It takes courage and perseverance when it comes to change, and we have all had to adapt to a whole new way of engaging in not only education but life itself.

This is a time like no other. So, as we head as a community into Term 3, may we proceed with confidence and courage for whatever lies ahead.

Fingers crossed all will go to plan.

Daniella
