State Interschool Equestrian Championships

Congratulations to the Great Southern Grammar Equestrian team who attended the 2021 Saddles Plus State Interschool Equestrian Championships Presentation Award Evening on Saturday 17 July.  This event was held in April with over 160 riders and 60 schools from all over WA attending.  

 

The School’s secondary team Felicity Ericsson, Ruby Rae and Rachel Henderson was awarded:

  • Champion Show Jumping School
  • Champion Rural School
  • Overall Champion Secondary School

Individual awards:

Felicity: HiPoint Winner (Year 7-9)

Ruby: Individual Show Jumping winner (80cm & 90cm), Individual Secondary Combined Training winner 95cm; Off the Track winner for Show Jumping and Off the Track third in Elementary Dressage.  

 

Ruby was also selected for the WA State Team to compete at the Australian Interschool Championships which unfortunately has now been postponed due to the COVID outbreak in Victoria. 

 

Amelia McDonald our Primary Rider rode in a composite team with Geraldton Grammar and Pingelly Primary School riders and was awarded:

  • Reserve Champion Primary Dressage Team
  • Champion Overall Primary Rural Composite Team

Congratulations to these riders and their horses, they represented GSG with pride and were rewarded for all their hard work and efforts.

GATE News 

ICAS parent payments.

ICAS testing will take place during Term Three on the following dates. 

 

Writing (Years Three to Ten): 11 August

English (Years Three to Ten): 16 August

Science (Years Three to Ten): 24 August

Spelling (Years Three to Six): 26 August

Mathematics (Years Three to Ten): 30 August

 

If your child has not been nominated by their teacher, but you would like them to sit any of the tests you can register and pay via the parent portal at http://shop.icasassessments.com/pages/pps  You should then create an account and enter the School’s parent code of CLM719.

 

Nominations and payments are due as follows:

Writing: 25 July 

English: 1 August

Science and Spelling: 8 August

Mathematics: 15 August

National History Challenge

Entries are still open for the 2021 National History Challenge. This year’s theme is 'Significance: History Matters'. The challenge is open to all students from Years One to Twelve. More information can be found at https://historychallenge.org.au/ Entries close 27 August.
