Year Four

Year Four News

In Year 4 we are very happy to have our students back in the classroom. We are busy with our new Unit of Inquiry: “The body is made up of different systems that need to be maintained in order to stay healthy”.

Students have been learning about each system and cementing their knowledge through creating their own diagrams. Here is Poppy’s from 4B:

During Literacy we have been working on punctuation, specifically talking marks. We have learnt how it’s important to start a new line when there’s a new speaker and to add prepositional phrases when we want to add detail to our sentences. Chloe in 4B went the extra mile making notes to revise  her understanding and Ben in 4B wrote a paragraph using a range of punctuation successfully.

It has been a big couple of months of birthdays too! Here is Mr Farmer and Poppy showing off their new birthday wheels!

We welcome Mrs Barratt to 4C. She has been busy getting used the routines in year 4, particularly Year 4 sport. 4C and 4D are yet to play off for 3rd and 4th, but 4A and 4B were lucky enough to play their grand final with the 4A students taking away the crown.

Congratulations to all players for being enthusiastic, competitive, gracious and humble!
