WW1 Centenary Exhibition

YEAR 9 HUMANITIES EXCURSION
In a world first, over 350 of the most significant historical artefacts from the acclaimed WW1 collections of the Imperial War Museum in London will form the basis for this international WW1 Centenary Exhibition at Melbourne Museum.
Students will have the opportunity to explore the global story of the war in a new, innovative and interactive experience with original artefacts, amazing film, rare artworks, sounds and images.
As all Year 9 students study WW1 as part of their History coursework and Common Assessment Task (CAT), we are taking all of the year level to this once in a lifetime exhibition at the Melbourne Museum.
From Monday 15 June to Friday 19 June, students will attend the Museum with their classroom teacher to explore the exhibition.
- 901, 902, 903 Monday 15 June
- 904, 905, 906, 907 Tuesday 16 June
- 908, 909, 910 Wednesday 17 June
- 911, 912, 913, 914 Thursday 18 June
- 915, 916, 917 Friday 19 June
We will travel by train to Parliament Station and walk to the Museum. Students will need to have a valid Myki card with the appropriate funds loaded onto the card and then validate it at Lilydale Station. Those students without funds on their Myki will need to load fundsPRIORto the excursion so that we are able to quickly and efficiently board the train.
As the tickets are being purchased through Ticketmaster, we need to be able to organise payment well before the excursion.
The cost to students is $19 and payment is required by Monday 30 March, 2015.
A copy of the excursion notice is attached below. If you have any questions about the excursion, please contact Kristy Mays by email;
