YEAR 12 2020 ORIENTATION PROGRAM
The Year 11 exam program commenced today with an Elevate and Wellbeing day. The Year 12 orientation program for our current Year 11 students will continue next week from 18th November – 22nd November. This is a terrific opportunity for next year’s senior students to begin preparation for their final year of secondary school studies. It is compulsory for all students entering Year 12 in 2020 to attend the week program.
The purpose of this program is:
- Instil in students that the notion of consistent application is paramount to success in Year 12.
- For each subject teacher to explain his/her expectations of the students in relation to the subject
- To explain the key requirements and key aspects of each selected subject
- To allocate any preparatory work for completion over the holidays.
Students will attend one week of class for each of their five subjects (or one subject if they are fast tracking a Year 12 subject). As the timetable will not be completed by this time it will not be known exactly who the teachers of each subject will be. The Domain leader will allocate experienced and the most likely VCE/VCAL teachers to each group.
It is important that we raise this matter with parents and students now and give students plenty of advance warning so there can be no excuses for non-attendance. 11th November – 22nd November are compulsory school days. This transition program will be a positive experience for students and will benefit all participants.
