Recently, Kingston Council hosted the International Youth Silent Film Festival (IYSFF). A shortlist of 20 short films created by students from around Australia’s east coast schools was screened with a 1920’s themed night. The winner would secure the opportunity to represent Australia in the global arena in Oregon, USA next year.

Current Year 11 students, Jordan Nandan, Julian Petrone, Joshua Bell & Anthony Bougioukos, won this opportunity with their entry “Writer’s Block”. They won all categories including Best Film, Best Story, Best Cinematography, Best Directing and achieved a Runner Up place in Editing. This was a great feat when considering the caliber of the other schools that entered the competition.
