Echuca-Moama Sing Fest
The first ever Echuca Moama Sing Fest 2017 was held over this past weekend with great success! Singers and choral groups from around the Echuca/Moama area worked together at several performances over the weekend.
On Saturday, students from Moama Anglican Grammar Singers and our Jr Singers performed along with several other groups at the Kerrabee Sound Shell in Moama. In the morning, they had a workshop with six other choirs from around the area, including River Voices, Bella a Capella, singers from Deniliquin and a special guest youth choir, Southern Voices who came from Melbourne to be a part of this event. At the workshop, our students warmed up with over 70 other singers and learnt two massed-choir pieces which were performed at the finale of the Sound Shell concert. It was a delight to sing with so many other voices and the group sounded exceptional.
The Sing Fest included an evening concert on Saturday at Moama Anglican Grammar featuring Southern Voices and River Voices. Members from the Australian National Choral Association also attended this event.
Finally - the Sing Fest concluded Sunday morning with pop up performances around the Echuca port area. A highlight was when the group decided to sing under the wharf in the Discovery Centre to passing paddle-steamers who received a special serenade that morning! We look forward to more Sing Fests to come and a big thank you everyone who helped make it possible.

Orange for One and All
On Thursday we celebrated inclusion by wearing a splash of orange with our casual clothes and bringing $2.
When getting dressed on Thursday and putting on a splash of orange we hope students thought about how to include everyone in the things they do and how they are respectful, tolerant and kind to those who might be different to them.
We live in a country and community that is vibrant and multicultural — from the oldest continuous culture of the indigenous Australians to the cultures of our newest arrivals from around the world. Our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and is at the heart of who we are. It makes Australia a great place to live.
The diversity in our country is an integral part of our national identity. All people who come to Australia bring with them some of their own cultural and religious traditions, as well as taking on many new traditions. By including these traditions, we enrich our lives making everything we do that better.
Our school’s core values also promote inclusiveness especially the values of respect, tolerance and kindness.
We respect the culture and traditions of others, we are accepting and tolerant of things that we are not used to or things we don’t know about and we are kind, always, to everyone – we include everyone.
