In and around the classroom

With the Covid restrictions easing, it has been amazing to have activities take place at Homestead.

Athletics Carnival

Homestead Senior celebrated our very first Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 8 March. It was an incredible day, our students were amazing, participating in the serious track and field events, soccer tournament and the fun run.

Lady Northcote - Year 10 Transition

Year 10 students had the opportunity to get away from the school and socialise through some activities.

Homework Club

Homework Club occurs afternoon every Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday is run by the English team and Thursday is supported by the Math team.

We encourage all students to consider taking some time after school to stay back, get some work finished and get extra support when they can.

Homestead-the inclusive school

In 2021, the school LGBTIQ+ club wanted to show their support for the LGBTIQ+ community. From this initial idea, we developed the Homestead Inclusive Badge which has been made available to all students if they wish. We think they look great and could not be more proud of our students who developed it and who support inclusivity at Homestead.

Interschool Sport

We have had volleyball and tennis go out so far this term which has been amazing. Our intermediate volleyball teams came second and tennis team placed third. We are proud of each of them.

The college has also run some staff-student games at school. The students went down to the staff team in the volleyball match. A new basketball league is currently being developed.

Game ON

"Gaming Club is a new and exciting addition to Homestead Senior Secondary College, to promote inclusivity, social interactivity, and most of all, fun. At Gaming Club, members are free to play multiplayer games with other members with player rotations sorted to make sure everyone gets a turn to have fun, and make new friends! Held every lunchtime from 1:25pm to 2:55pm in the G.03, with daily gaming rotations so everyone gets a chance to play their favourite games. Gaming Club promotes friendly competition, so you can prove your skills to everyone, along with upcoming tournaments with prizes to win for the best players, though when we're not participating in tournaments, we have friendly matches against each other for fun. We're more than happy to see new members coming to Gaming Club, and everyone is welcome, hope to see you there!"
