Kharisma Kids - OSHC

Well week 4 has come and gone so quickly.  Our Utilisation numbers are slowly increasing again as we slowly progress out from the health and safety restrictions that we are all too well aware of and that have been part of our everyday lives since 2020.

This week’s focus was:            Road, Bike and Pedestrian Safety

We looked at the various road signs with a cut and paste activity.  Senior students paired with Junior students to work together cutting out two halves of road signs, pairing them up and sticking them to a display paper. We sat and discussed what the various signs indicated to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.  We looked at where we would find the signs in our local neighbourhood.

We also touched on Bike Safety and Pedestrian Safety with some word find activities and using a Kids Emergency app in which the children work through some emergency scenarios. It helps to guide the children and what the process is in dealing with an emergency.

As the weather starts to fluctuate and there are cooler days on the horizon we are looking to changing our snack menu.

We are always looking for new tastes to explore with the children. We keep trying a variety of cultural foods and style of eating, promoting good health, table manners and a strong sense of wellbeing.
