School Council Elections,

2022

On Monday 28th February, the eldest child in each family will be given an envelope containing ballot forms for this year's School Council Election at CJC.

Please ask your child for the envelope on Monday night.  The ballot forms must be returned to the school prior to Monday 7th March at 4.00pm.

Please mark your ballot forms, put them into the blank envelopes provided, then pop them into the CJC addressed envelope that has been provided.  Your name will be ticked off a list and only the unmarked envelopes go into our ballot box.

A short statement has been prepared by each candidate to assist you in your decision;

Craig Jacobs

My personal and professional life is dedicated to improving the lives of those around me.  I am a retired doctor with years of experience as a national health insurance consultant in the US.  I now work in the life insurance industry developing and delivering communication training that focuses on empathy and rapport building, the foundation of a good bedside manner.

I have a vested interest in the community and our school.   My wife Amanda teaches biology at a nearby school, and our sons Jett and Cole are in Grade 2 and Prep respectively.

In my spare time I can be found behind the lens of my camera attempting to make my kids smile.  I also enjoy gardening which has proven to be a steep learning curve for a guy from New York City.

Participating on the school council will allow me to help CJC thrive after a challenging two years.

Marc Warshall

Marc is the parent of Sebastian who started Prep this year at CJC. Professionally Marc is the Finance Director at Creature Technology Company which makes life size animatronic creatures for theme parks. He is also qualified Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant (FCPA).

In his spare time Marc co-manages the cooking team for Nourish which is an outreach program feeding people every Monday night in St Kilda run by Temple Beth Israel.

His hobbies including beekeeping, brewing, fermenting, cooking and enjoying family and friends time. He is married to Kate and has a Cocker spaniel named Satski and a Russian blue whom you may see roaming around the area called Kazi.

Marc is standing for school council as he would like to contribute to the school and can bring his diverse professional as well as craft and creative skills. He feels privileged to live so close to a school which can offer its students such an amazing and diverse curriculum both academically and culturally.

Issy Arieli

I'm Issy Arieli and have been involved with the school council over the previous two difficult years. I have 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy) of which three are currently studying at the school (years 6, 2, and prep) one has left the school and is now in year 8 while the youngest will hopefully commence her Caulfield Junior School experience in 2024. I'm very happy that our children belong to this wonderful school.

At university, I completed a Civil Engineering degree (Hons) at Monash. I later completed a graduate diploma in accounting becoming a CPA and also an associate diploma in Valuations. Following several years at GMH in the finance and computer departments and another year elsewhere, I set up a software business where I wrote and sold my own software to dentists, doctors, dental laboratories, and dental prosthetists.

My current focus at the school council is to help obtain funding for new building facilities at the school. With my lengthy business and property experience, I believe suits that role which I would very much like to continue.

Akshat Tanksale

Associate Professor Akshat Tanksale has been on the School Council for the past four years. He has one child in grade 4 and another one who recently graduated from CJC. As part of the school council he convened the Masterplan Subcommittee and the  Lunch Provision Subcommittee while is in the final stages of selecting a vendor. Earlier, he has led the Stargazing nights on two occasions, which unfortunately could not be done due to COVID in the last two years.
