Farewell Ms Price and Welcome Mr Currie

6E is wishing Ms Price a sad farewell. As a secondary trained teacher, Ms Price was the obvious choice to move into the Year 7 English and Humanities classes. Year six students and staff are sad to see Ms Price go but will visit her often in the year seven building just next door. We know she will be a great asset to the Year 7 Team!

To step in for Ms Price, 6E welcomes current Saltwater staff member Mr Stephen Currie. This week students have gotten to know Mr Currie and have enjoyed learning about his teaching style. 6E looks forward to continuing to get to know Mr Currie this year!

‘I feel happy for Ms Price because she is meant to be a secondary teacher and she will prepare the year 7 program for us and be our teacher next year. I am excited for Ms Price to have a bright future. Mr Currie is a humouros teacher that always wants the best for his students.’ Maitri Trivedi of 6E

‘I am happy for Ms Price because she has been the coolest teacher and supportive from the first week. She loves to drink diet coke. I am really happy for her to move on, take care of the year seven students and get married. I am really excited to have Mr Currie as my teacher because I had him in math groups last year. He is supportive and helps me get better in my learning.’ Baxter Williams of 6E

‘I enjoyed having Ms Price as my teacher because she makes learning really fun and is always there for me when I need help. I am happy for her to move into year 7 because I will see her next year and I hope she had fun having us in year 6. I am really excited for Mr Currie to be our new classroom teacher. He is very supportive and humourous and he can help me learn a lot this year.’ Nimrat Saini of 6E

I am happy for Ms Price to go to year 7 because she has been a year 9 teacher and has the knowledge to help secondary students and she will be ready for us when we are in year 7. I think it will be really good to have Mr Currie as a teacher because he is really funny and likes to make learning fun.’ Ata Ozbilgi of 6E

Who We Are - Health Focus

As we continue to explore our Unit of Inquiry, students have continued to investigate the different kinds of changing taking place in their lives.

This week they compared how the changes they are experiencing can be physical, social and emotional or a combination.

Students were knowledgable to apply their understanding of the changes their bodies will go through during puberty and consider how the changes could be sorted into the categories of physical, social and emotional.

Wedding Shower

Students and staff of year 6 wished Ms Hunter and Ms Price an enthusiastic congratulations on their upcoming weddings. Ms Price is getting married on the 18th of March and Ms Hunter is getting married on the 20th of April.

Students loved giving advice to our two teachers, writing them a wedding toast, thinking of wedding words starting from A to Z and designing a dress and a cake. The overall favourite activity was to work in teams to create the most beautiful toilet paper bride.

‘It was fun because we got to play all the games with Ms Price and Ms Hunter. It was good to see Ms Hunter and Ms Price celebrating and happy with all year 6 students. I wish both Ms Price and Ms Hunter have a nice wedding’ Kayode Ilori of 6E.

The best activity was to make wedding dresses for teachers and students. At the end of the day, we all gave a big clap to say congratulations to Ms Price and Ms Hunter!’ Nieke De Wet of 6C

We loved celebrating with our brides to be and can’t wait to see photos from each wedding!
