Preschool

In the preschool we have had a focus on reading and enjoying stories. The children have engaged in a variety of reading activities - retelling some familiar stories using story table props, reading and sharing stories with book buddies, visiting the school library and using the cosy reading areas both inside and outside at preschool. The children have become very good at retelling the Gingerbread man story, and Dear Zoo using the story table props and it has been pleasing to see many of the children enjoying reading books independently during preschool sessions.

With the lovely weather the children have spent lots of time outdoors.  They have actively explored the obstacle course, played cricket, enjoyed kicking and throwing balls, bowling and have shown their cooking skills in both the sandpit and the mud kitchen. While inside, the supermarket has been a popular activity with many full trolleys and a need to constantly restock the shelves with groceries. Road building and cars has also been very popular in the block corner and the last few weeks the children have also enjoyed a variety of Easter activities.
