Victoria's back to school plan - rapid antigen testing
The plan maintains the importance of the 3Vs: Ventilation, Vaccination and Vital COVIDSafe steps and introduces rapid antigen testing as an additional measure.
Free rapid antigen tests will be made available for all staff and students in Victorian schools for the first 4 weeks of Term 1 2022. Rapid antigen testing will be voluntary for all primary, secondary and specialist school students and staff.
The recommended rapid antigen testing schedule for Fitzroy Primary School is twice weekly on Monday and Thursday mornings before school.
The Department will distribute rapid antigen test kits directly to schools for the commencement of Term 1 2022. Tests will be provided in packs of 5 individual tests. One pack for each child will be sent home at the start of week one and one pack for each child at the start of week three.
Students and staff will do the tests at home and must report any positive test results to their school via phone or email. Information about how to do a test, including a how-to video translated into 33 languages.
