F/1/2 News

What an amazing term! The F/1/2 students have all worked really hard and shown great improvements in all areas of their learning.

To end the term, we are looking at patterns in Maths. The students are working on being able to identify and continue colour patterns, as well as naming the pattern increments for skip counting.

In English, we are continuing to focus on developing our phoneme (sound) and grapheme (letter choices) knowledge. We have also been focusing on our ability to write sequenced stories from picture prompts that follow a series of events or ideas. The students have been participating in assessments that check their Letter ID and decoding skills.

In Religion we have been learning about Lent and Easter. The students have been learning that purple is the colour of “getting ready” (preparation) in the Church and that in Lent, we get our hearts ready for remembering Jesus’ resurrection on Easter. We have also begun looking at the events of Holy Week. Our learning about Lent and Easter will continue into term 2 where the students will also be provided with the opportunity to share what they did during Easter.
