CARNAVAL FRANCAIS - MARDI GRAS

TUESDAY 28th FEBRUARY

Mardi Gras ( Carnaval Francais ) is celebrated in France as part of Lent: a religious tradition marking 40 days before Easter. It also ties in with Spring festivals in Europe and is an important time to set goals for the new year ahead. This day, you may know it as, Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day. It is also a time to have fun and eat lots of  treats. (These doughnuts, les beignets from Second Ave Grocer are the best jam doughnuts in Melbourne!)

Bonjour BPS Families,

On Tuesday 28th February, BPS celebrated Mardi Gras (Carnaval Français).

To celebrate and learn at BPS, we had Carrousel Theatre  perform a bilingual puppet show, 'Aladdin and the Magic Lamp' (Aladin et La Lampe Magique). They performed to allstudents from Prep to Grade 6.

Students and staff at BPS love to dress-up! You could feel and hear the excitement by all.

It was another great day bringing the BPS community together!

Many students and staff came dressed as a character from the classic tale of Aladdin Others wore something colourful or were in a fancy dress costume!

Take a closer look at the masks created by the students from working with their buddy grades.

They are magnifique!

What a great day and effort by all!

Merci beaucoup!
