NgoonGodgin Breakfast Club Volunteers

Breakfast Club has expanded from three days, to five days a week. Eat in breakfast club runs from 8.20-8.40am each morning in the Babajen. We have aimed to reduce the takeaway time, to reduce the amount of one use items and rubbish. Takeaway options are still available between 8.40 – 8.45am. After 9am students can access breakfast items through their classroom teachers and or educational support staff in the Babajen and the main building.

Thank you to our dedicated Breakfast Club volunteers who have grown our Breakfast club in 2023 to five days a week.   This has allowed students to access breakfast foods to start a healthy learning day and make connections with other students across year levels.  Breakfast club is a fantastic wellbeing strategy at TPS.

2023 Foundation Transition

Over the past few weeks we have been welcoming and getting to know our families of the new 2023 Foundation classes.  We have had story time, plays at the park, a showcase of TPS features and time in the new classrooms to meet our teachers.   Thank you to all the parent/carer and staff volunteers who helped welcome all our new students for 2023.

TPS Library Improvements

Our amazing TPS Library Team have been coming to school every Friday morning to ensure we have an Inclusive Library to promote literacy and a safe space for all children.

Thanks to all the parents/carers who have been volunteering your time including Cat, Olga and Lexi with the support of Jasmine in the front office there have been many improvements made this year

  1. A more inclusive Library collection to represent the diversity of our community
  2. Weeding the Library collection for out of date resources
  3. Purchasing through fundraising and Scholastic points new texts for students based on interest – including a Young Adult fiction collection for Year Six students
  4. A donation of Indigenous Literacy texts
  5. Cleaning and tidying the Library with book displays, Book week display and “new to the Library poster”
  6. Updating the Library borrowing and cataloguing system to Oliver v5

Aunty Terri is working with us to rename the Library a Woiwurrung word for 2023  as we continue our improvements including increasing student voice and leadership in the library and a more contemporary non-fiction collection.
