WBBL “STAR” visits CHPS
On Tuesday morning, the Year 2 girls had a visit from Sophie Day, who is a Women’s Big Bash League Cricket player. Sophie was also a local player, who started out at Warrandyte Cricket Club when she was 16 and now, she plays for the Melbourne Stars!
The Year 2 girls participated in a clinic, showing Sophie their throwing, catching, listening and reaction skills.
This was a wonderful opportunity to promote pathways for girls in Cricket and they had a great time listening to Sophie’s story and receiving some pretty cool give aways! Look out for Sophie during the season on TV. She is a spin bowler and wears number 6.
Preps in Gymnastics
Over the past 4 weeks, the Preps have been participating in a gymnastics program, led by Michelle from PROACTIVITY.
They have been busy working on log rolls, egg rolls, forwards and backwards rolls, handstands, cartwheels and all different kinds of strength and balance positions to help build strong bodies.
The Preps thoroughly enjoyed this program, and we will continue to build upon these skills. Gymnastics provides a fantastic base for children’s balance, control, strength and posture that helps compliment any sport your child participates in.

Ice Cream Anyone?
Join us for a summer treat next Thursday, November 17th, when The Whippy Truck will be visiting from 2.45pm - 3.30pm to offer a selection of ice creams for current and future families to purchase. The van will set up just inside Gate 2 (into the Prep area) and new 2023 families are warmly invited to share in this CHPS community treat to celebrate the return of some sunshine (we hope)!
From Sophie in Sickbay....
Health officials and weather forecasters are predicting one of the worst allergy seasons on record in the coming months, with more than 20 high pollen count days between now and Christmas.
If your child suffers from hay fever or other allergies, please administer anti-histamine medication before school and be aware that Sickbay can no longer provide Claratyne or Zyrtec to students who are affected and do not keep supplies of these medications.

Food For Families
This year we are again proud to join with Uniting in collecting non-perishable food items to brighten the Christmas period for families in need. Collection boxes are in the foyer for our community to leave donations of non-perishable foodstuffs and personal care products, which will be distributed through Uniting in the weeks before Christmas.
We thank our families for their continuing generosity.
