A Big Week at CHPS

Melbourne Stars Cricket Clinic

On Tuesday our Year 2 girls were fortunate to have Women’s Big Bash League Player Sophie Day come to visit. She spent time with the students answering their questions about what it takes to become an elite sportsperson, signed autographs and ran a skills session with the students. Thank you to Mrs Yorke for her organisastion of this event for our students.

Middle School Make It Better Design Challenge

There were squeals of delight and suspense in the Middle School this week when they tested their inventions with an egg drop. The students have been learning all about safety and inventions that have been created to help us live safer lives eg. seat belts, helmets, life jackets etc. Their design challenge was to create a contraption that won’t break an egg when dropped from a height. We have some future engineers among us!

Year 2 Minibeast Incursion

This term our Year 2 students have been learning all about minibeasts and their habitats. To complement their learning, on Wednesday the students had an incursion where they were able to extend their knowledge by looking at some less common minibeasts and ask questions of an expert in the field.
