What's Happening In RE

On Thursday the 10th of November, Annalyse Gaiter, Ruby McRae, Monica Thomas, Hamish McRae and I had the chance to catch up with all the schools that had attended the NEAA Student Conference at Mater Dei Catholic College in August.

Each school had the opportunity to speak on behalf of their school in reference to the things they took from the Conference and how they plan to continue Nano Nagle’s legacy within their school.

It was great seeing all the familiar faces and being able to take away the things the students were implementing within their communities. Within our local area we actively plan to maintain the momentum of Nano’s message ‘Flame For The Future’.

Our first action is to host a Presentation Day Liturgy, with the Presentation Sisters and ErinEarth to launch the ErinEarth Podcasts on Monday 21 November.

Gideon Bible visit

Members of Gideons Australia visited Kildare recently to gift our 201 Year 7 students their very own copies of the New Testament. This is a yearly event, with local Gideon members speaking to our students about the power of turning to the bible for comfort in times of trouble.

Our students are then able to put their bibles to good use in our RE classrooms as they practice navigating their New Testament, Psalms & Proverbs pocket-sized Testaments. 

We thank David Kennedy and local Gideon members for their visit to Kildare and look forward to seeing them again in 2023.
