Principal's Message

Twilight Carnival

The Twilight Carnival, held last Friday, was an enormous success. The mild weather provided an ideal setting for the first Carnival since 2019. A crowd of well over three thousand people was in attendance and over 1475 ride tickets were sold. It was wonderful to see the Mount View community enjoying gathering, to not only enjoy the rides, but to eat a wide variety of cultural foods or choose from the many food trucks in attendance.

The many craft markets, Green Team Stall and a couple of individual student stalls also provided a range of items and activities to meet individual interests. The ninety minutes of individual student musical and instrumental performances on our stage was enthusiastically supported by our parents and families.

Thank you to all staff members, parents and community members who contributed their time and energy into this wonderful celebration of Mount View. For many younger students this was their very first opportunity to be part of the excitement of a carnival at Mount View and I am sure that the event has created some lasting memories of school days.

We are asking for feedback from students and the community so that we can continue to improve our annual Twilight Carnival. Please send your feedback via email to glenn.butler@education.vic.gov.au

Please also put the date of next year’s Twilight Carnival in your diary – Friday, 17 November 2023.

Planning for 2023

At this time each year I create an opportunity for parents to email me about any concerns they have about their child’s class placement for the following year. Parents may have concerns about their child’s social, emotional, or educational needs that they would like to be taken into consideration by school leadership as we form the class groups. I have allocated a five-week period for this beginning on Friday, 21 October and concluding on Friday, 26 November. Requests and correspondence from earlier years was shredded at the end of the process. Therefore, parents with concerns to share must write to me each year. Please email me on glenn.butler@education.vic.gov.au

School Council

The November meeting of School Council will be held on Monday, 21 November in the Staffroom starting at 7 pm.
