A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 6 Canberra Excursion

Our students, teachers and parents set off for Canberra on Monday morning. They had a long trip but arrived safely. They will be visiting Parliament House today. We wish them a happy and safe trip.

POSI Schools

Next week all classes will begin a series of short lessons focusing on developing a positive mindset.

The Infants students focus on Gratitude: The students will learn to see the good in the world; see the good in others and how to say thanks.

Years 3-4 focus on Connection: The students will learn to be active listeners; the importance of being honest, telling the truth and saying sorry.

Years 5-6 focus on Mindset: The students will learn about a growth mindset; the importance of practising to improve and that it is OK to fail.

The lessons feature three well known sporting heroes: Ash Barty (Champion Tennis player); Trent Cotchin ( AFL Captain) and Sam Willoughby (Olympic BMX Rider).

Each student will bring home a pair of POSIsocks next week which they are encouraged to wear with their sports uniform each Wednesday for this term. The socks encourage the students to put their best foot forward.

Class teachers will give you more detailed information about what the students are learning and how you can support this at home.

PAT Assessments

During the next two weeks students from Years 2 - 6 will be involved in PAT Assessments. These standardised assessments are a diocesan wide initiative. The results are carefully analysed by staff and used to celebrate individual learning growth and to pinpoint individual learning needs.

Many students and staff were unable to attend school today due to flooding. Travel safely and I hope we have all hands on deck tomorrow!
