Celebrating Student Learning

Gardening Club
The garden and veggies are looking great this time of the year! A lot are ready for harvest and have been picked by the students. We have harvested broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas, lettuce, leak and cabbage!
Thank you to all of the students and staff that assist during gardening club.

Outdoor Classroom Day
Last week, the staff and students at DPW celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day. Outdoor Classroom Day is a global movement to inspire and celebrate outdoor play and learning, at home and at school. Children are spending less time outdoors than ever before and this is affecting their health, wellbeing, and development. Time outdoors – on Outdoor Classroom Day and every day – will make children happier and healthier, as well as equipping them with the skills they need for life.
Below are some photos of the Year 3 and Year 5 students taking their classroom outdoors. The Year 5 students are learning about and practicing angles in Maths. The Year 3 students are learning about why It is important to use less digital technology in writing, so they went outside to read a book and explore the environmental area.
