Deputy Principal's Message

Welcome to 2023! I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our returning families, our 2023 Kindergarten students and families and to our new students who are joining us for the first time this year.
2023 is set to be another great year at Ben Venue. It was wonderful to see the students motivated to start the new school year and excited to meet their new teacher and classmates.
I wish all Ben Venue families a happy and successful year ahead.

Yellow line after school pick-up

The office staff have been busy making signs for students who are collected from the yellow line after school. Please display these signs under the passenger's sun visor in your car. This helps to make for an easier pick-up on the yellow line and allows teachers and staff to clearly identify students being collected.

No Stopping Zones

Please be reminded of the No Stopping Zones on either side of the pick-up area at the front of the school. In these zones, cars cannot stop at any point on the road or kerb in the direction of the arrow, unless in the case of an emergency. These zones are regularly enforced by traffic officers.

Please see the information below from the Armidale Regional Council regarding school zones, the importance of not stopping on or near a children’s crossing and regulations involving No Parking, No Stopping and Bus Zones.

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN)

This year, NAPLAN assessments will be conducted in Term 1. Year 3 and 5 students across the country will begin their participation in the 2023 NAPLAN Online test on Wednesday 15 March. Online assessments will be completed between 15 – 27 March, during Weeks 8 and 9. The NSW Department of Education expects that all students participate in the assessment program.
