NEWS & ADMINISTRATION

Mrs Caroline Galea

Dear Parents,

The end of the year is progressing very quickly.  This is the second last newsletter for the year.  Although there are a number of Christmas activities going on, don't forget it has been a very busy year and the children are already tired.

Thank You

I wish to thank the wonderful members of the MAD group who gave up their time last Saturday to assist with the Election BBQ. A special thank you goes to Carmela, Adrian, Adam, Sam, Enzo, Stuart, Cesare and Luke for giving up their time. I also wish to thank all the families who made a point of coming to vote at Holy Name in order to assist us.  On the day we made just under $400. Well done Team!

Family Lunch

Tomorrow, Friday December 2nd, all families are invited to spend lunch with their children. You are welcome to either order extra lunch for yourself and others from the canteen in the usual way or alternatively bring a special lunch for you and your child. Weather permitting, from 11.30am to 12.30pm, all children will have lunch outside on the school grounds.  Children whose family members are unable to attend will have lunch with their class/classroom teacher.  All family members are welcome to attend. Please enter through the office.

Christmas Carols

Next Wednesday we will be celebrating our Christmas carols. We are hoping for some good weather as we would like to do this on the Basketball court. Should the weather turn nasty (we are living in Melbourne), then we will make use of the hall.  Unfortunately, this will mean it is a bit squashy but that is plan B.  There will be a sausage sizzle happening from 5:00pm so you can buy your sausages.  All children are expected to be seated and ready to start by 6:00pm.

School Reports

On Friday 9th December 2022, all student reports will be available to be viewed on the Parent Portal.  Instructions on how to access the nForma Parent Portal will be sent out to the email addresses that have been previously supplied to the school.  These emails will be sent out on that day with new generic passwords.  Once you log in, it will prompt you to create a new password.

It is very important that you have updated your email addresses with the school,  as an automated email containing instructions and login details will come from  no-reply@nforma.com.au and not the school.  Please ensure that you check your junk/spam folder for an email from that address.

It is highly recommended that you use a computer to access your child’s reports for the first time.  Subsequent logins can be made on a mobile device if preferred.

Once you have followed the instructions, you will be able to view your child’s report online.

Once in the portal you will need to choose your child (if you have more than one at our school) and then choose the reporting component.

Forgotten passwords:

If you have forgotten your password, please follow the 'forgotten password' link. Please note that your new password needs to be at least 7 characters long and must include at least one non alpha-numeric character, e.g. *, - / or similar.

If you have requested a password reset and the email does not appear, please look in your junk/spam folder for an email from no-reply@nforma.com.au

If you have any questions or issues, please contact the school office.

Children Online

It has been brought to our attention that there are a number of children who are left to their own devices when playing online.  Some of our children have admitted to talking to other people online that they do not know and have even passed on their home address. We would all like to think that we can trust our own children to do the right thing, however they are children. I do not however, trust others, as there are many adults who pretend to be a child.  Please be aware of who your child is conversing with when online.

Parent Helper Morning Tea

By now you should have received an invitation via Operoo for our Parent Helper Morning tea.  If you have helped in any way, we would love to see you at this morning tea, please respond via Operoo.  This will be taking place on Tuesday 13th December at 9:00 am.
