FAREWELL TO OUR GRADUATING CLASS 2022

Dodgeball

This year the Student v Teacher dodgeball game kicked off with a bang. Teachers brought their A game, winning round one with their Christmas cheer and clear skill. Students were then all asked to participate in hopes to help them over the line. Some great athletic skills were showcased on the court. Many students in the younger years cheered their hearts out for the year 6 students. Depending who you ask will depend on who won in the history books, but either way the spirit was fantastic and lots of fun had  #teamteacher!

Year 6 court in session

This week in Year 6 we were learning about the court system. The students were given a case to investigate and a guilty or innocent verdict to come up with to convince the jury. I think we have many lawyers in the making as these arguments were well written and investigated. The jury finally came to the conclusion that Andrew Turner was in fact guilty of stealing the $2000 and the judge sentenced him to prison and a fine of $4000 for damages.

Transition Conversations

Over the last few weeks we were lucky enough to be visited by some old friends. Past students from Star of the Sea and St Kevins came in to tell us about the transition process to highschool and what to expect and some things that shocked them when they started. We got to ask many questions with friendly faces, which has given up even more confidence to take on this next chapter.

Luna Park

The wind, rain and cold weather didn't stop our graduating class of 2022 from having lots of fun at Luna Park on Tuesday.

Spirit Award

Thanks to Brighton Ford, St James is now giving one student in the graduating class of each year a Spirit award. We look forward to awarding this inaugural award.

This one student voted in by the senior school and all teaching staff is chosen because they always show the school values. St James Values are:  Respect, Inclusion, Compassion, Courage and Excellence. They are someone who is an upstander and can be seen as the ultimate St James Role Model.

Students and teachers had to choose one person and explain their choice. This award will be handed out at the last day assembly and reasons read out. This person should be someone everyone looks at as a good person as was St James himself.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all.
