So far this year we are hitting lots of target goals for our SWL program, we have exceeded our achievement by 100% for the same time last year. This is testimony to the patience and commitment of our SWL Coordinator; Wendy Dalkiran who has successfully built strong relationships with our employers, schools and teachers.  Unlike most other LLEN’s almost half of our placements are taken up by students attending schools outside our LLEN, this can make it harder to plan and focus where we place the most effort on sourcing placements in terms of industries needed. 

An examination of last year’s placements show that the Hospitality Industry, as evident in the numerous bars, hotels and restaurants in the city is by far the most popular among students for a placement.

The chart below demonstrates what our most popular industries have been for placements so far this year.
